Are you talking about CBD oil or an oil made from all the cannabinoids?

I've tried both and the oil made with all the cannabinoids - CBD, THC, etc was much more effective.

Where do you get it from? Australia is considering legalising medical MARIJHUANA only by prescription for certain people with certain illnesses. Mainly terminally ill people. Don't know if it would be smoked or in what form it would be given. What is the story around the rest of the world.? Coz I've had enough. Taken its toll now. Too much for me. Sifrol was ok for very short time. Am stopping it tonight. Janet.

Be careful about going cold turkey on Sifrol Topdog01. What strength were you on???

in reply toSpudellen

Thanks Spudellen. Was taking the lowest dose being 125mcg and then doubled for a few weeks. Stopped 'cold turkey' last night and even though I had an attack, it was not as severe as usual. In fact, after the attack, I had a better night. Not so much sleep, just more peaceful and 'feeling better'. So glad I can speak with you all. Thanks again. Tell me what you think, as I have heard only bad things about 'coming off' Sifrol. Janet

Hi! topdog01. I cut the 125mcg into quarters because either Raffs, Nightdancer or Elisse suggested generally to keep the dose of Pramipexole (Sifrol) as low as possible. As I am very sensitive to medications, I thought it wise to do so. It is sufficient for me at the moment. Keep us informed how you fair cutting out the Sifrol and if you have withdrawal symptoms.

in reply toSpudellen

Thanks Spudellen. When the doc said to take 2 x 125mcg I actually cut one in half anyway. Tonight will be Night 2 of no Sifrol. Im looking forward to having a peaceful night (well, thats what Im telling my brain!) I did take 10mg Valium and 2 Panadeine Forte (my feet are very painful and swollen and worse during an attack). These 2 meds seem to help after about 20 minutes or so.

Doc told me to try not to take any higher Valium, 'as I might get addicted' I said, 'so what!' I really dont care. I have a 4 page long allergy list of medication anyway, and sometimes I just take a drug because Im not allergic to it! Valium is great for me. I am not recommending it to just anyone. We are all so different and coming from all over the world makes a difference anyway. Janet

in reply to

topdog, what is your list of allergy meds..? Do you know many allergy meds can make RLS worse. ?

You dose of Pramipexole is very low so you MIGHT not get any withdrawals, when i was on the dose and came off it, i had a couple of bad nights, then the RLS settled down, and if the Valium is working then hopefully thats all you will need. I went from taking the Prami to taking Tramadol and Tramacet.

in reply to

Hi Elisse. My allergy list is 4 pages long. I keep a notebook in my bag for when I go to hospital. That way, I dont have to repeat myself. Cant reel them off - really need a copy of them to show you. For example, Tramadol is at the top of the list. Took half of the lowest dose (years ago) and needed Hospital for it. Half hour trip then. I was shaking all over and vomiting, migrane. Couldnt walk. As I got out of car, I collapsed on the road outside the Hospital. Next 4 hrs were touch and go. Endone is another one - same thing happened. So even the lowest dose of anythiing could be bad for me.

2nd. night without Sifrol and even though I had a 'mild' attack (in comparison), it wasnt too bad. So even without seeing doc, I will not take Sifrol again. Still, now I dont know else to take, try etc. Valium has a good effect on me and funny thing is, I can take 60mg Codeine per dose and its great (I take that for spinal pain. Car accident many years ago).

Seems we all have other diseases and conditions to put up with. Im alone by the way, so suffering just seems worse. But I can always talk to you lovely people. Thanks. Janet

P.S. When I joined, I used my User name etc. and didnt know that that would be the name I would be known by. Do you know how I can change that and become just Janet from Australia?

in reply to

I think maybe i misunderstood what you meant by allergy list. I think you mean you have a list of meds that you CANT take, because they give you a bad reaction.

Go back to your profile and see if you can change you name there.

in reply to

Yes, Elisse, a hand-written list of 4 pages long of meds that I am allergic to. As I always have to go to ER on my own, I get so exhausted by repeating my allergies to every doctor and nurse. So now, I just say - look at the list. And they photocopy it. When you are on your own, there is no one to speak for you. Best to have it all written down. I shall try the Profile and see how I go about changing the name and thanks for your attention to me.

topdog01 That is really funny that you can take codeine because like you, I am very sensitive to drugs. I have to be hospitalized with Codeine ..same as you with your other drugs you are allergic to. I was given morphine many years ago it did "something" to my heart and was told never, never take morphine.

Hi Spudellen, glad to hear that the low dose is working for you and you are aware to keep the dose low. :)

Hi, I have been taking CBD oil in a vapouriser for about 2 weeks now, and I am pleased to say it seems to be working! So much so that I haven taken myself off the medication prescribed to me which was Pregablin.

I usually only need to have a few puffs of this on a night, before bed. I am absolutely delighted.

Does this oil stop RLS??????

I used to take 2 x Pregablin tablets each day for my RLS, one on a morning & one at night, so I thought I would bring myself off them gradually. So what I did, as my RLS usually affected me at night, I stopped taking my morning tablet for a few days & took painkillers when needed. Then I replaced my night time tablet with a few puffs of my vapouriser with my nice strawberry flavoured CBD oil.

I think it's fantastic. Since doing this, my RLS has only woken me up twice during the night, and, the pain has not been as severe. When it has woken me, I simply have a few puffs on the vapouriser and go back to sleep - no more pacing the floor & no more crying!

Give it a go, & please let me know how you get on.
