Legs have been very bad these last 2 weeks and they feel like chewed string. Does not help that I am in a very bad flare of some of my 'other' conditions at the moment.
What i would give for a good night's sleep !!

You have company on this side of the pond. I spend about 6 hours out of 24 in full blown jumping and jerking with pain, mode. I spend another 12 in some pain and ill at ease. If I spend 3 hours asleep I am lucky and those are spent in a recliner.
I want to scream at the researchers---FIND A CURE-- but what good would it do.
Hi Kentish Man, I do not know what you are taking in the Medication Line, but maybe you should increase your Ripinirole to 2 or 3 1mg tabs, and add a Tramadol of 50mg x 2 and see if that wil help you sleep, it works for me, you just have to be active for a while to get the meds going around the system and then I find that I can sleep pretty well for 5 or 6 hours very deeply and wake up very refreshed. So it could be worth a try. They say we should not tell each other what med,s to take, but then they are not the ones who are suffering the pain and movement and not knowing what to do to calm it down. Movement for me is Paramount, once the beginnings start, I get up and start walking around and doing fiddly things, taken pills and then when quiet go for a sleep, and then start off again.
Hope this helps.
Take Care.
Widgeylegs.
Hi Widgeylegs,
I currently take a whole host of Meds (over 21500 tablets a year !!) and take Quinine Sulphate 300mg, Ropinirole 2 mg, Pregabalin 600 mg Chlorphenamine 4 mg, Certirazine 10 mg predominately for my restless legs and to aid sleep with BuTrans Patches (Morphine) 50 mg per hour and Co-Codamol for pain as well as the Pregabalin. Also have Obstructive Sleep Apnoea for good measure !!
I have tried numerous things to help me relax and get back to sleep. I bought a miniature radio to aid my getting to sleep and I listen with earphones. However, after 59 minutes it switches itself off and waking me in the process. I have tried decaff coffee and tea, alcohol, no alcohol, hot cocoa, cold &/or hot milk.
All I have left to try I think are ketamine and a straight jacket !!
Some morning's the bed covers are all over the place, as are my pillows due to a restless night of RLS. When it is really bad I say that I have my dancing legs on (I cannot dance) as my legs seem to develop a mind of their own and feel totally wrecked, as I do, come morning time.
Hence = What I would give for a good night's sleep !!
Thanks for trying to help anyway. If I find an answer, you will be the second person to know !!
Hi Kentishman. I have been looking at your list of meds. First, Quinine should not be used, it doesnt work for RLS and was only used for cramps. It has a FDA warning on it as it can cause heart problems. It should only be taken these days for Malaria. I had to look up what chlorphenamine and certirazine are, and i found they are both anti-histamines. Anti-histamines for most of us RLSers can make RLS worse. So, those two meds could be what are making your RLS bad. I have a feeling that the pain meds you take are not good when you have sleep apnea. I am sure that is on here somewhere as someone else had to stop taking pain meds because of his sleep apnea. Oh and dont be tempted to up the dose of the Ropinerole. You are taking the highest dose that is now recommended by the RLS experts. If you think that med is the one not working then you need to get off it.
I found the post on opiates and sleep apnea. In the search box, put, pain meds and sleep apnea.
