Hi Beady, i can only tell you my experience when i used the 2 tabs 50mg Tramadol. They made me violently sick after just the first time i tried them. I had to stop them. You could ask your doctor if he/she would prescribe Motilium10 its a anti-sickness pill, which might help you. Its also RLS friendly so shouldnt affect your RLS. It used to be sold OTC at the chemist, but they found for some people it caused heart problems, so you need to see if its ok for you, your doctor can tell you. x
Hi Beady, I am a retired nurse and from my nursing experience I know that unfortunately many of the "stronger" painkillers can have nausea as a side effect.
When a patient really needed to be on one of these stronger tabs the doctors often used to prescribe an anti-nausea tab to be taken 30 mins before the pain-killer and this generally seemed to work out fine.
It would be worth discussing this with your GP to see if this is something he would consider for you.
I know from your previous posts that Tramadol had been brilliant in treating your RLS so it's worth trying the anti-nausea meds as long as it's ok with your GP.
Best wishes and a happy Xmas to you
A thanks Booklover so nice to think someone is trying to help you I am going to try taking the tabs earlier then maybe I will feel ok,I am a bit scared of taking anything else. Will let you know how I get on take care xx
When I first started taking tramadol, they made me dizzy and nauseous and vomit and break out in a cold sweat. I had to cut the pills in half and take 25 mg for a few days before I could take the 50 without those awful side effects. Good luck.
I have been on 25mg or 50mg at 2100 for the past several months and have been sick (nauseated/weak/heart burn) the entire time. So bad, I have lost 15 pounds and have been in the Emergency Dept. twice for dehydration. Trying Gabapentin and Neupro this week. Afraid of Neupro patch because I had augmentation with Pramipexole (on it for 15 years). Any suggestions?
Hello dancer sorry for your probs we are all different,I have been on the patch about a year now with Tramodol no probs but not a lot of success, from yesterday I started Pregablin and still on 2mg patch last night was awfull but we always hope don't we ,keep intouch because I think we a are about the same,I have got to ring the doc next Monday, just to say I had augmentation with Requip
Hi Beady, nausea is a trial and I'm really sorry your tramadol are having that effect. Unfortunately, I understand that a minority of patients will have that response. Taking the tablets in little and often doses has helped others so you could try that.
I find ginger to be a very effective anti-emetic. You can buy ginger tea bags or eat chrystalised ginger or even steep fresh ginger in hot water with some honey. It is worth a try as less invasive than taking an anti-emetic drug. Good luck, beady, I hope you find an acceptable solution.
