Suffered RLS for last 10 years and getting worse (24/7) taking pramipxole .018mg.Just diagnosed with diabetes and not sure if leg and foot pain is due to this or RLS. Also taking OxyNorm 10mg which helps with both symptons.Where do I go from here?

I dont know that much about diabetes. Lot of people have leg and foot pain with RLS, so whether that is down RLS or your diabetes or not i dont know. Did you have that pain before your were diagnosed with diabetes..? How long have you been on pramipexole, if a long time, you maybe suffering with augmentation. Or the RLS is just progressing, hard to know which one it is.

Hi Elisse, thank you so much for your reply, I did have the pain before I was diagnosed with diabetes but it is more apparent now than before. My legs and feet are swollen with water retention so it may be the case that my veins are being compacted which may be the reason for the pain. I have been taking pramipexole for about 2 years and wondering if it is augmentation. I will make an appointment with my doctor and diabetes nurse to see if I need to stop RLS tablets for a while. Thanks for your time.

Hi blokie, I can symapathise with you. i too have had RLS, Type2 Diabetes and RA. I only been getting the RLS in the past 8 months and my doctor seems to think it's probably a side effect of my meds that I am taking. Hope you get yours sorted. I don't want to take anymore meds for fear of getting more side effects. I am already on Mthetrexate. Amitriptyline, Metformine, Sulfasalazine, folic acid, Januvia, Gabapantin, Tramadol, co-dydromol, simvistatin and citalipram. Some of those are just pain killers but they don't always work. Good luck blokie.

It's probably inflammation/ poor circulation at work. With

diabetes, you need to move around as much as possible.

Take frequent breaks to put your feet up and/ or walk around

is what I read.

Hi Cuddles 64, sounds a lot of meds to be on, are these just for RLS or diabetes combined? If you take a holiday from taking one of your meds what do you supplement it with or do you just go without and suffer?
