RLS and daytime sleepiness
I take Pramipexole and excessive daytime sleeiness is a sideffect which I suffer from every day. I makes you feel you want to sleep all the time at any time and place.
I cannot believe there is any doubt. Ever since being on Ropinirole I have suffered from excessive sleepiness and this is for the past 6 years. I have just had to adjust my whole way of life to cope with it.
I've been on Ropinerole, Clonazepam and now Sinemet, and all make me groggy, some more than others. RLS interrupts my sleep which lessens my daytime concentration, but besides not sleeping well RLS meds themselves make me even more groggy during the day. I read and write a lot and still do but can't keep at it as long as I did before RLS and meds.
I take ropinerole and always have trouble sleeping through the night. Most nights I wake between 2am and 3 and don't go back to sleep. It means that by 7pm the following night I am ready for bed! There's no way I can sociallize in the evenings anymore because I'm just too sleepy. I also feel very sleepy in the afternoons, usually, but don't give in to napping, otherwise I would be awake all night!
Oh yes, we dont sleep at night, so sure we have daytime sleepiness, who wouldnt !!
When my RLS was very bad in that i was awake from 1am to 7am each night for 2months I found, naturally, that I fell asleep from 7am to at least 11am?
The experts used to say, our dopamine levels fell at night, before i was on medication, i found i slept better in the morning just like you did.
Hahaha - if I didn't nap every afternoon I honestly don't know how is make it through the day!
What studies are we talking about? I kept meaning to ask, but get so busy I forgot!
