Helo maesllan5,

Have you tried the Dopamine agonist drugs, i.e. Pramipexole (Mirapexin, or Sifrol), Ropinirole and probably others too?

HI Pete-1

Did try drugs 2 years ago, ended up with a bag full of unused (tried and tested) which made me into a zombie. I have a very low tolerance with medication. my limit is 2 paracetamol 500mg and 400mg Ibuprofen any thing stronger and I have to cancel the day 600mg ibuprofen, which I have to do from time to time as I suffer with my back hips and shoulder pain on top of RLS.

Hi Leonard 123

Are you saying it did help with stopping the worms eating away in your legs? Movement of your legs?

I tried acupuncture and it didnt do a thing for my RLS. I am also very sensitive to all the meds, i am taking Pramipexole, and i cant get past 3 of the .125mgs, i have to break the last pill i take into bits, and try to judge how much to take, too much and i am out of it the next day, dizzy and sleepy, so i would rather take less and wake in the night with breakthrough RLS, and NOT get a full nights sleep, then i can function better the next day, i maybe a bit tired but better than sitting all day because i cant cope with the next day side effects.

I did not go through with acupuncture as I had planned at one time for

RLS but I did have it for another reason and for me, it didn't work all that hot.

It actually made me more tense during the procedure. I felt like the guy

who was putting the needles in was not being too careful..a few times I cringed. When I left the building the only relief that I had was that it was done.

I canceled my remaining appointments..(that was for nauseating headaches)

Hi there, at one point I spent thousands of pounds on many alternative medicines and therapies including acupuncture. Unfortunately none of them worked. Hope you find something that helps you soon.

The chiropractor is another one that I tried and for me, it did work..but not

enough to justify going in for treatments (adjustments) every other day..

My rls did go away by about 70% after 10 treatments..

Emmm I'll have a look into that. I'm living away from home till new year, so it's difficult at the moment, I'm home for a few days soon I've booked appointment to see new doctor. Wasn't expecting to be away for so long, I've ran out of pot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not many people ever had help from the chiropractor..

I wouldn't really recommend going that route because

it's very expensive..My insurance policy had me pay 30

us dollars for each visit up to 6 visits per year and then

it's 100% my bill after...that's a lot of money for treatments.

One guy told me to follow my gut instinct on treatments..

Maybe your acupuncture will work very well for you...

What works well for one person will not work for 10

other people..that's what makes it so hard to treat...Now

it's crystal clear why you are having such a hard time..Pot

was really helping you, wasn't it? Dang sometimes I want

some but the legal ramifications in my state of Wisconsin

are so severe..I wouldn't consider that seriously. Good

luck in finding some safe stuff.

Tried Chiropractor also , they are good for stretching only in my opinion. Hope there is really something for permanent RLS cure.

I also had three sessions of acupuncture and 4 sessions of hypnotherapy, neither had the slightest effect, just made me broke!

I have tried acupuncture 9 years ago for about 2 months and again a year ago, it is waste of money, unless someone has different experience.......

totall waste of tije for meboth acupuncture, and hypnotherapy

I cannot say that hypnotherapy was a waste..I can calm myself down and

filter out the bad vibes from others very quickly and easily most of the time.

It made me extremely aware of my breathing patterns and mindful of my

posture, I can actually feel my shoulders get tense and I can make them

go calm again just from doing the methods taught in my class..Acupuncture

might work..I can't say that I could eliminate that one..Everyone's body

is not responsive to the same things.. example: Chemo and radiation work

for some and others don't get better...

I am retired massage therapist of 18 years. In my practice, I used acupressure (pressure on acupuncture points along the meridians with fingers) successfully for many disorders, including RLS. To boost the efficiency of the RLS treatments, I trained patients in self-acupressure, The key is daily consistency with this strange disorder, since so many things can trigger it daily. It takes minutes to perform, and you may need only a little help by another person. I will post details within the next few days. There are medicine-free alternatives I've seen work for others and treated myself with for decades. Have hope,
