After I have been fighting and struggling for exactly 2 years, the doctor at the pain clinic in my hospital finally is going to give me a spinal morphine pump for my terrible RLS/WED-pain in legs and arms 24/7!
The operation day is decided to be the 22nd of october.
Now I "only" have to set the Fentanyl adhesive, the Sifrol and the morphine Depolan out, so that I am clean from medicines the 22nd.
I guess I'll have a couple of hours/nights in hell while doing that and do really hope that the pump will work for me.
I think this operation is still experimental in the world of RLS. I just read an article in Night Walker's Magazine from a patient who had this operation and after 36 months he still has not had RLS symptoms, just a little restlessness in the evening.
You will have a very hard time to get off all meds and I hope that the operation goes well and gives you a much better quality of life fo a long time.
Hi I've not heard about this proceeds your having it sounds great and I wish you all the luck in the world. I know what it's like to wait for a spinal proceder my heart is with you. Missymaz.
Thanks all!
I know that it doesn't work for everyone, but IF it works for me it will be heavenly!
I've spoken to people who have had their pumps för 14, 7, 5 and 3 years, all working out perfect and with the same very low morphine dose and no side effects!
There was some scientist in the north of Sweden who did a research on this year 2007 with very good redults.
And I am in that situation that I do not have ANY alternative at all, the oral drugs are not working optimal because of terrible side effects on the one hand and my ileo ostomy on the other hand.
So I am happy and looking forward this with big enthusiasm.
Good luck Swedish, i hope it works for you..!! Look forward from you of the results...
Good Luck
