Hi bookworm

I was diagnosed with Raynaud's 7 years ago, been ok but started to get worse last year.

Just these last few weeks I have noticed my veins getting darker and more prominent and very tender to touch :-(

I have had Scleroderma since I was 22 and one of the first things I remember noticing was varicose veins. It took a very long time before anybody recognised that my problem was Sclero so I have had all the various problems which were labelled Raynaud's, Indigestion, Irritable bowel, Migraine, ulcers etc. etc but in fact were all part of Systemic Sclerosis. I would get yourself to a Rheumy, preferably a Scleroderma Expert and have another assessment done.

Make sure whether the matter with your bowels is scleroderma or not. They used to tell me I had IBS. See your rheumatologist.

I have both IBS and varicose veins. I have spoken with my Rheumatologist but he doesn't think the IBS is connected, but I feel that there may be a link.
