No epidemiological investigations have previously been conducted in Australia according to the current clinical definitions of chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME). The aim of this study was to describe sociodemographic and illness characteristics of Australian patients with CFS/ME

Differentiating between groups using alternative criteria is a sufficient change from making results fit the theory that a little hope may spontaneously break out.

Shocking it has taken so long before asking who is affected and what are the main triggers that cause so much suffering.

Give antidepressants and dismiss as hypochondriacs if they follow the British lead on treatment. Who where when and what ought to be done are irrelevant when ignoring anything.

Looked up what it means - Epidemiology is the study and analysis of the patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations. It is the cornerstone of public health, and shapes policy decisions and evidence-based practice by identifying risk factors for disease and targets for preventive healthcare.

For a so called rare disease ME seems to be everywhere . I am treated by my doctors as a pariah , they don't want to see me and even when I am very ill and in agonising pain they refuse to visit me at home. I am 1/2 mile from the surgery, but NO they will not come under any circumstances, which must be illegal. A year ago I demanded over the phone to see a pain specialist. Saw one recently, and he suggested SUICIDE. I kid you not . PS I have 2 witnesses to this. I bet even Cameron does not know this one !!!
