hi simplyem, First of all well done on reaching 6 weeks. As for your snoring and sore throat it could be your chest is clearing itself from all the mucus and chemicals from smoking. May be you should check with the doctors just in case its an infection you have developed. especially with the headache. if you look on some of the blogs on here Emjay and Jarvo our advisors have put on some breathing exercises which may help you. I will see if I can find them for you. Meanwhile welcome to quit support and please join in , we are only too happy to have new members chatting with us. :)

Breathing Exercise (1).... Quick exercise that can be done anywhere and is easy to learn

Posted by EmJay Roy Castle 19 Oct 20123 commentsReport

Cravings lead to irritation and sometimes panic, causing the quitter’s mind to speed up. When this occurs, concentrating becomes hard. Using a deep breathing exercise is an effective way of calming yourself down.

This exercise can be done anywhere from sitting down in a chair to waiting for a bus. Follow the simple stages described below;

With your mouth closed and shoulders relaxed, inhale deeply and slowly to the count of eight.

As you breathe in, push your stomach out.

Hold your breath for the count of four.

Breathe out slowly to the count of eight.

Repeat the cycle five times

DO NOT OVER DO IT – STOP IF YOU FEEL DIZZY

Hi simplyem, hey I'm falling apart too, glad to find someone who agrees stopping smoking is similar to having a nervous breakdown :) I take Champix too, I've been feeling very melancholy of late, especially on waking but my hubby who gave up smoking about 10 years ago completely cold turkey said that is exactly how he used to feel too, so I guess if you're anything like me we blame Champix for everything - well, why not :)
