Hi I’m new on here and was after some tips to come off quick mist. I’ve been using it for 21/2 years and relapsed in June and smoked a pack of 20 cigarettes. My cravings have been ok but dependant on quick mist.

Welcome to Quit support Drawer, Sometimes people get into the habit of using nicotine replacement products nearly as much as tobacco itself.

You need to re-think. Do you really need the nicotine or is it more a habit of hand to mouth or at certain times during the day.

You need to restart as if you were quitting smoking, as it is very much the same.

You may consider using an inhalator or e.cig which you can gradually reduce the nicotine to zero %

The other way is to go Cold turkey, and use healthy nibble such as diced fruit, nuts, etc for the times you would normally use the mist.

I will assign you your progress badge which will change weekly as you go along.

Look forward to supporting you. :) xxx

Thanks jillygirl you have answered a lot of my unspoken questions about coming off NRT. I quit smoking January 2nd 2017 and lapsed for 24 hours on June 13th 2019. I’m on a programme with the local pharmacy who are helpful.

Lots of useful information on here. Thank you for your support 🙂

Hi Drawer,Well done for your decision to quit smoking AND to become nicotine free.

When we quit we have to learn how to deal with cravings.Quick mist can help but it contains nicotine so without being hurried ,you must lower the dose/the number of times a day you use it.There are other ways of dealing with cravings.

I suggest you read the pinned posts, which you will find to the right of the page or at the bottom, depending which device you are using.

Remember to drink plenty of water to flush out the cravings and keep yourself hydrated.

Please let us know the exact date of your quit so that we can assign you a winners' badge and update our database.

Good luck with your quit.xx
