Ecig or not.

Hi all,

I gave up smoking on the 18th of June 17. For most of the time I'm managing really well, but come Fridays when I have a glass of wine I really struggle ☹ I've considered getting an ecig zero nicotine to see if this helps. What does everyone think? Thank you 😊

I'm using an e-cig to get. It's a brilliant invention , wouldn't be without it. Definitely worth a try

Thank you Karen, I think I will go and get one before I start back on the ciggies.

I'm using 6mg nicotine at the moment but I'm going to decrease it slowly. Go to a vaping shop. If they are any good they can advise what the best one for you is 👍

The problem is, I don't want to put nicotine back into my system. So I feel the zero nicotine may be best for me. I just don't want to undo all I've achieved so far 😊

Start with 0%. If you are really struggling still go from there. Nicotine on its own it's far better than fags.

If you've not had nic in your system since June the 0% should hopefully do the trick.xx😊

I know it's hard but maybe u should delay drinking until u your thoughts about drinking are not a craving . A lot of it is mental. Find something else to focus on. I don't knock ecigs but that's still a crutch. Just allow yourself to let go. The wine will always be there.♥

If you think it will help then go for it. I've never used one and I think I may have in different circumstances.

When you say you struggle do you actually smoke?, if the answer is yes then definitely get one, and if the answer is I may do very soon, get one😊.

4,000 nasty(cancer causing) poison toxins and nicotine in those cigs, I think an e cig can be a saviour in some people's quits.😊

Good luck and let us know how you get on😊

I'm a vape fan. I also use 6,8,12% nicotine depending on device/coil resistance. I do not vape much, though.

For me, the amazing increase in lung function whilst indulging in what I consider to be a very low level habit is priceless.

Go for it Fecking, It is one of the most popular nicotine replacement aids . Even the ones with a small % is better than tobacco. :) xx

Thanks for all your comments, I think I will go get an ecig just for Friday evenings, as I come close to buying a pack of cigs, and I definitely don't want to go down that road. I will let you all know.

Hi fecking,

You've done amazingly well to do a month without any substitution. I managed 2 weeks cold turkey then ended up buying one of those cheap throwaway ecigs (5.99 from tescos) I didn't wanna spend around 50 quid on one as I feared id try to make it a permanent replacement for cigs.

Like you, alcohol was a trigger and that is the only time I used it.. it got me thru for a while and satisfied those cravings. After about 2 months I just wiened myself of it.

Also does your other half smoke or your friends ?? I strongly believe sucess is down to friends and family not smoking. If people around me were smoking It would have been near impossible for me to quit.

Best of luck you're doing great...

Hi Triggersbroom,

What a great idea, I will go to Tesco and see what they have got. My hubbie has never smoked so doesn't ununderstand the need for one when having a drink. He is however fully supportive and agrees that I should get one to use when having a glass or two. Thank you for the reply and saving me some cash 😊

Got through the weekend without having a smoke. Did get an ecig with zero nicotine in it for Friday night, only used it a couple of times and it helped with the cravings. Haven't touched it since, really pleased with myself 😊
