Hi Kala32, well done on 15 days quit 😁 constipation is a really common side effect of giving up and I imagine that you are having milder symptoms. It's all perfectly normal in the quit process and does ease at some point however all our bodies are different and some take less that others to get through the crappy bits.

There is loads of info on the site with common things to expect and I'm sure others will be up soon to give you loads of helpful tips. In the meantime I found liquorice really helped with the windy bloaty feeling 😊 good luck and keep strong x

Hi Kala32, a big warm welcome to our quit support community and a great big well done to you for reaching around day 15 of your quit :) :)

As our lovely LilyMay has said, I'm afraid its a very normal symptom of recovery :o Our bodies go through a vast change when we quit and it should soon get back to normal :) but in the mean time, try eating plenty of fruit like grapes, or like Lily said, liquorice. I munched on some choc raisins, they got me ermm, going :D :D

Kala, are you using any form of NRT to help you quit :o cos some of these sort of make you a bit windy :o

If you could please let me know your quit date, then I can add you to the Wall of Winners and sort you a Winners badge out :)

Good luck and remember NOPE, Not One Puff Ever :)

Pete :)

Thanks for your reply,i quit 30th august.I am using an ecig.I suppose its not cold turkey.Iam 55 years old,and smoked since i was 14.I am not coughing up nasty stuff, and my breathing has improved.I have not gained weight.I am happy, but i have this niggly feeling,i wont want to lose the e cig.

Hi again Kala :) as you can see, I've bin out and got you a 2 weeks Winners badge and I see I will have to go catch you a 3 weeks Winners badge tomorrow too :) :) I hope your very proud of yourself :)

I too am using the e-cig, so drink plenty of fluids cos they tend to dry you out a bit :) and dont worry about using the e-cig, you make sure your well and truly quit, then we can help you to cut it out :)

Hi there fantastic work on getting this far! 😃 Hope your feeling good and proud of how far you've come!

I switched to an e-cig 3 weeks ago, I felt like I needed to break the habit before I broke the nicotine addiction, this week I'm starting a gradual wean off nicotine and cutting down on the amount of nicotine in the fluid.

I wouldn't worry about getting off the e-cig your already off the other chemicals and to be honest that's huge!

Hiya Kala and welcome to quit support 😊

Nearly 3 weeks is brilliant, so well done👍🏼

I see you've got great advice already and things will settle down so keep up the good work. Don't worry about the ecig at the moment, just take one day at a time and good luck😊x
