My brave courageous dad Tom lost his battle with this awful illness just hours into the New Year. It would have been his 47th wedding anniversary the next day.
He had been admitted to hospital with pnuemonia on 15th December but responded well and came home on Christmas Eve. Sadly he was rushed back in on Friday with breathing difficulties and died on Sunday morning.Mum never left his side while he was in hospital. We are all still in shock.
We have met some great people and have had loads of good advice through this forum and the Brentwood Support Group, particularly Jenni, Liz and Ray.
My auntie, Ronc, has also been a great support to us and to the PSPA, raising money and setting up a support group, and the whole family will continue to campaign to raise awareness into this terrible illness.

Oh Claire, I have only just read about your Dad. I am so very sorry to hear your news. My darling Mum lost her long brave battle with PSP on 29 December and we are beyond devastated. I think we met at the last Brentwood PSP meeting. We are going to be collecting donations in Mum's memory for the PSP Association at her funeral on 16 January 2012.
My very deepest sympathy Claire to you and your family. PSP is quite simply the most appallingly cruel disease.
