I got one of my Italian friends to translate this article - summarised translation is:

Approval has just been given by the Italian authorities to go ahead with this experimental pilot investigation.

This therapy is based on using a person’s own stem cells that are transported to the brain using a catheter that is inserted into the femoral artery.

It was found that the stem cells contribute to the survival of the affected cells.

There is going to be an experimental pilot phase whereby 5 patients will be treated and monitored. After an evaluation of the 1st phase, there will be a 2nd phase for 20 patients.

This will only be done in collaboration with 3 approved medical centres.

The 1st 5 patients have already been selected. The cost is 26000 Euros per patient.

At the moment we only have funding for 5 patients.
