headup collar was the only one which helped the old bag as it also supported the chin.
I can't help you as my husband never needed a neck support with his type of PSP. I just wanted to say how impressed I am that you are trying to find out more about this awful disease and wanting to help your patient and maybe those in the future. I wish more medical professionals would research into PSP as there is a lot of ignorance.
Maybe the PSP Association could assist you. Good luck in your quest.
Look for "Headmaster" neck support, my wife was given one by the orthotics dept. at the local hospital. Only had it a short time but it works well. Details on Google.
my wife has cbd and has neck muscle strenth. I don't know whether this is the case with you patient.
I tried a neck collar but this is only effective during physiotherapy
Physiotherapy on the other hand is necessary to avoid the neck muscles in getting shorter and stiff.
When she wakes in the morning she's mostly relaxed. Then it's possible to do some that daily neck stretching.
What also can help is to get concentration upward for eg. watching TV in case the patient is interested in it.
I hope this can help.
