wheelchair accessible vehicle hire

UK advice please. Has anyone hired a wheelchair accessible vehicle for a few days as my husband can no longer get in and out of our car and is no longer able to walk. We don’t go out anymore but I would like to take my husband away for a weekend for an important family wedding later this year. It’s about 150 miles away from home. Any advice re good vehicles and companies or experiences are welcome. Thank you

I've had this recommended but not actually tried it yet. fleximobility.co.uk/family/ They do offer hire even for a short period or single trip. 🤞

We hired a WAV from Fleximobility (and have now actually bought one from them). All the staff are very helpful ( especially Barry) and understanding of our needs. They wanted to find the vehicle for our needs. My daughter wanted to be a co driver and only drives automatics, I drive a manual. They took us out for a drive, showed me how it all works and made sure I was comfortable with it. I would recommend them. Tel: 01865 300361
