My Mum suffered with this and we never got it sorted but as the condition progressed it seemed to reduce or maybe she just got fed up of saying about it. Do get blood pressure checked as this can be the cause but I think in Mum's case it may have been to do with her eye sight. When she moved her eyes took time to focus and they didn't move together, leading to double vision as well. I can imagine that would make you feel a bit dizzy.

I'm sorry that I don't have much to offer on this. My dizziness has been with me since early 2017. Several medications were tried with absolutely no effect. I have noticed that it dramatically increases for a few minutes when first lying down and occasionally when rising.

Hi Bellaismydog,

On my own experience when i feel like my head spin around (dizziness) i found that i have a very low blood tension i try to have something to eat and drink more often and stay in bed for a while for each time . I had this dizziness on and off for 2 or 3 day and i get better without going to see the GP.

Check your blood tension first to see if it low and than try to have food and drink and have a good rest in bed to see how it goes.

I have the same problem - hypotension No effective medication, the only advice I can offer is to change any position slowly. Practice this with the mind-set that each time you move you will have a dizzy spell - make it become muscle a memory exercise. Taking your blood pressure when you first awaken and throughout the day will heighten your awareness to the potential of any dizzy spells.

Do you use a cane or walker? They can help prevent numerous falls... but unfortunately not all falls. Sending hugs... Granni B

If you are actually feeling dizzy rather than just losing your balance and falling then it is probably low blood pressure. This is a big feature of MSA which is similar to PSP/ CBD. The blood vessels are no longer getting the right messages to control the pressure. Be especially careful about getting up from seated or lying and do it in stages. This applies even more so after a meal. You're better off staying in the same chair for some time after eating.
