Progress in PSP patient after 3 weeks of CBD oil

Hi All

I reported my wife's case suffering from PSP for the last 6 years. She is almost immobile and cant walk even with help. Of late she is not able to speak clearly. We have started using CBD oil and it is in progress for more than three weeks. As I had already reported earlier, she had reasonable appetite and was sleeping comfortable except for the need to pee in the night 3-4 times. But after taking CBD oil, there is not much change. Probably she sleeps more often during day time.Otherwise there is no change. Our son had bought two small bottles of 30 ml(720 drops as per the label). WE are almost finishing the first bottle. There is no change to report. Anyway, we are waiting for a miracle to happen to get her back to her cheerful best.

Once again I thank all who replied to my earlier comments.Praying for all who suffer from PSP and other such problems, I remain.

Best Wishes

Most medications are a little value. All one can do is try them to see if there’s any benefit.

Thank you Jeff

Thank you for the update. I’m sorry there isn’t much of an improvement. Perhaps her sleeping more suggests that her pain level is more tolerable from having taken the CBD oil? One can only hope!

Sending hugs.

I don't think she is suffering from any physical pain due to PSP , but for the inconvenience in zero mobility and difficulty in communication. Thanks for the kind words

What strength is the oil? It was great for my mum in the early days it was the first thing she would ask for. The strength does make a big difference though the higher the strength the more expensive.

Thank you Prof. Kochi.

Hug and luck.

In our case we have used CBD Oil Entourage from the company Love CBD.

3 to 6 mg / day (afternoon) of CBD Oil (20/1-CBD / THC) via subling, usually before dinner, to stimulate appetite, reduce anxiety and as a co-adjuvant analgesic in neuropathic pain.

I can affirm that after 8 years with PSP-RS and the last 2 years applying CBD Oil, the patient eats well (with the classic difficulties in swallowing and crushing food) and episodes of anxiety as well as muscle pain are rare.

I cannot affirm that this is a consequence of the application of CBD Oil. We have not observed any side effects.

Hug and luck.

Hi kpmdas!

I'm sorry PSP/CBD/ etc. has entered your family.

The suggestions of my "chat" colleagues are wise and based on their different experiences. In my case they have been very helpful.

These kind of diseases manifests theyself in a similar but different way in each patient. The participants in chats like this offer practices and solutions to learn from, and through the "trial and error" method, achieve a quality of life with interesting moments despite everything.

I am not a phisicyan.

During the 8 years in which we ere living with PSP I have been collecting our own experiences, symptoms and solutions and that of other members of the chat to offer some notes as a suggestion to PSP/CBD patients and caregivers. The mentioned notes are made with good will and with the best technical criteria that I could contribute, thinking above all in the support of the caregivers

Wishing the best for you and your family and if the notes-document with our experiences and our informations are of someone´s interest, do not hesitate to let me know to send it by the private mail of this chat.

Hug and luck.

Luis, I am always interested in the methods others are trying with or without success. I have seen many of your posts and always enjoy your contributions. If you have information that you can send me via private email I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Sorry, my wife tried medical cannabis for six months, no effect or relief from the PSP symptoms.

Hi kpmdas, I had read where it improved balance, speech and sleeping, so we tried it for approx 9 months. My husband took 6 to 8 drops of 500mg at bedtime but unfortunately we didn't see any improvement.

I am sorry you and your wife are on this journey. Keep on taking care of your wife, but also importantly, take care of yourself.

Best wishes, Nanny857xx

I felt like CBD oil helped my husband a little. The only difference I see here is that we used it first thing in the morning and felt that it helped with appetite and anxiety. There was never any big dramatic effect. However, it was the only thing we found that seemed to make his world just a little bit better so we continued to use it until the end.

I’m curious ... is this CBD oil any particular type (novice here)?

We used Jayden's Juice which was locally produced. I'm not sure if it's available everywhere or not. Their store here in Modesto, CA is called Jayden's Journey. It was originally produced by Jayden's father to treat his young son's epilepsy which hadn't responded well to more conventional treatment. It's been around nearly as long as medical marijuana in our area--maybe longer. At the time it came out, it got a lot of national attention and his dad appeared on quite a few national talk shows. I felt comfortable using it because of that when everything else was just a bewildering hodge lodge of stuff we knew nothing about. Even so, it was all trial and error. It was a 20:1 ration of cbd/thc. We never used more than 2 or 3 drops at a time.

Dear kpmdas,

Thank you for sharing. I'm very sorry to hear that there has been no improvement using cbd oil. Should your wife experience any anxiety it may help with that.

Thank you for all that you and your family do to try and make improvements and help to comfort her.

Thanks for the reply, may be you are right, My wife is a worrying type, at least these days, she does not show it. She cannot tell it as her capacity to talk is affected. Otherwise I don't find any positive effect as many others also have observed
