Today we color ... Mom is right handed, however, she now uses her left hand for most tasks due to the symptoms of CBD.
Excellent activity ... she enjoyed the traditional coloring books vs. these trendy adult coloring books, which are very small and quite challenging for her.
I hope all is well for you and your family as we manage each day in quarantine.

That's a really good point you've made about the type of colouring book - traditional vs trendy. I made the mistake with Rod in buying some adult colouring books that he just could not manage, due to the often very small sections to work on. So, I bought the traditional type with large subject areas. I also found that he worked better with the really fat crayons rather than coloured pencils, I think because he was able to grip them better. Sadly, that was one more thing he had to give up due to the ravages of PSP on his eyesight. The books still get used when my little granddaughter comes to visit - albeit she is still at scribbling stage so we end up with a riot of colour, completely unable to see what the original subject was. Of course, she gets huge praise for her efforts and I've actually seen similar exhibits in art galleries, which have drawn great interest from the public, so who knows where her talents will lead her - lol.
Have a good day, Kim, and to anyone else looking in.
It's interesting what the galleries pass off as art today and get sold for thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars. Like beauty, I guess art is the eye of the beholder. Still, all in all it's a great activity for your loved ones and even ourselves during this period of lock-down. Hopefully, it will become a regular family activity.
Absolutely right Tim and I guess it's often the enthusiasm behind a creation that's important, whether the beholder is able to tap into its artistic meaning or not. I think there's something called splatter art, for which you dont need any formal training, you just enjoy the fun element. I'm good at splatter art when I try to do a DIY painting task at home. More paint on me than on the walls!
It's actually really nice to see that during lockdown many of the fun things that we did as kids are rising to the surface again, like colouring, board games etc. Must admit, although I can't see my little granddaughter yet, and who knows when that might me, I love colouring with her, even though nothing stays in between the lines. Simple things of life, greatest joys, eh?
Funny ... I placed an order yesterday for the really fat crayons —- the smaller ones are not working as well as I thought ... she doesn’t complain of course, but I immediately thought of the fat crayons. My daughter FaceTimed while Mom was coloring yesterday, and oh the smiles and conversation she was having with Mom - remembering the “big green box” that mom apparently had for the grand kids, and they would all sit and color together ... mom
Just smiles and kept whispering, “I remember that” ... Mom was such the perfect Grandma to my kids.
I use to get Steve some painting by numbers, which he would sit for hours concentrating on. Apparently, according to something I read, don't ask me where! doing creative stuff uses the left hand side of the brain, whilst movement etc., uses the right hand side. So might be less affected by PSP.
In my book, anything that he could do at that particular time worked for me. Allowing, as we all know, would be different tomorrow.
