Hi

Telephone them. With us they set up an appointment in our home. The worker assessed Liz's mental capacity to make the decision and then said she would recommend the we have it. Fairly brief friendly and painless.

Hope this helps.

Best

Kevin

Are you claiming Attendance Allowance? It ranges from £60-£80 per week and is not means tested. If not then make sure you do. Number is 0800 731 0122 or you can google it. Regards

Sarah.

I applied to be appointee for my son's Personal Independence Payment (ASD not PSP though complete with own challenges!) once he became 18 and it was painless. As Helen says its more than you understand you're acting for the person who's claiming PIP/Attendance Allowance and that it's their money and also that the claimant doesn't have enough mental/physical capability to deal with things like paperwork and banking. Hope that helps and good luck!
