9 Hours of Sleep!

Last night Larry didn’t wake me once. No idea how long ago that last happened. Don’t expect it will occur any time soon again. I felt almost human most of the morning.

Hurrah!!!!!!

Did Larry appear to have benefited too?

Yes, he was in better shape. He was up Monday morning at 1. Took him to the living room parked him in front of the TV and went back to bed. Tuesday he was off as he is when he does this.

Hallelujah ! Enjoy. This could be just a tease - but may be a " New normal " !

Love Jean xx

I wish it were the new normal but we’ve been here before. It might last a few day or not.

Fabulous! What a difference a good nights sleep makes, eh? I love it when that happens!

in reply toSewBears

It was months or longer since it last happened. Didn’t happen last night.

Wonderful! Nothing like a good night's sleep, with a couple extra hours thrown in. Who knows? This may be a new normal. I hope so!

in reply tojourneyofjoy

I forgot what it felt like. We are back to normal this morning.

It’s great when that happens. Craig’s first night home from the hospital and he never slept a wink so therefore I didn’t either. Oh well

Sorry to hear. I woke at 12:30 this morning. Was awake until 2:30. Started to drift off. Larry decided to get up for the day at that time. Took him downstairs then back to bed with half a diazepam to get some sleep. Up at 4:30.

That must have been simply delicious! Being deprived of sleep is pure hell, I remember! X

That's amazing! I am currently in the process of looking for ways to help dad sleep. Last night he was up 25+ times. I strongly believe that if he can get a good nights rest it would be a game changer for him. Please let me know if you did anything different to get the amazing results.

Good luck and many prayers to all!

in reply tos1mplyGuS

That nine hour was me sleeping not Larry who has PSP. He usually has me up three times a night. Twenty-five+ I don’t want to think about.

I see. Thank you so much for the reply. My father also has PSP and struggling to get a good nights rest. He went from waking 5-6 times to 15 then last night 25. I feel it deep in my heart that if I can find any way to get him a good nights rest it would be a game changer for him.... I have recently been looking into anyone who has tried different medications that have had some success or even experimented with medical cannabis as I have read it could be of help to PD patients. This entire forum page is so extremely informative and the amount of help this community gives to one another is heart warming during such a difficult time. Thank you for all that have posted, all this information I have been reading is extremely valuable to my family and I.

God bless!

Don’t know what country you are in but you should ask the doctor for something to give him. It may be something for anxiety or a sleep inducing type drug.

CBD oil is apparently helpful for sleep for some people - entirely anecdotal but worth a try as you can just buy it from a health food shop (or at least you can in the UK).

Sorry - just seen your other post where you talk about trying this. Sorry I don't have any experience of trying it, but I'd be interested in what you find out. My mum (with CBD) is only up a few times a night usually from 4am. It's clear that these diseases do something strange to the brain at night. My mother has had several episodes of being quite confused about things in the night too.

Not what you're looking for?
