If you and your husband feel up to it I don’t know why you couldn’t go away. It would be more work for you not being at home with things at hand. Other people on this site with PSP and CBD have talked about being away.
Thank you Jeff x
Hello Joy73, my recommendation is to buy an international medical insurance, reserve a good seat on the airplane close to a restroom and with enough leg room and it depends on your husband mobility a wheelchair. And take into consideration that everything has to be at his pace and if you are going to change hours it takes some time to recover from jet lag, probably one extra day, Kindly, Patty
Thank you for your response most helpful
We went on a cruise to Norway and everything was fine. I drove to the port so didn’t have to worry about other means of transport and it was so easy on the ship. We managed some trips, went to see the shows and spent hours sitting on deck watching the snow capped mountains as we passed by. I don’t know if I could have coped with my husband on a plane but I know others have. I hope you manage to get away.

I suggest getting a copy of the diagnosis and carry it. You never know what may happen and it'll save any medical teams a lot of time.

Good advice thanks

Joy,
My wife and I lived over seas up to 1 year before her passing. During that time we travelled quite a bit. Initially, while her symptoms were managble, it was easy, however it became more difficult as the disease progressed. Unfortunately the burden of planning will fall to you as caregiver. I alsways felt an elevated level of stress as I tried to anticipate and ease difficulties before they arose. Depending on the symptoms, you will have to plan around them(restrooms, elevators, food, etc.). We found that most strangers were helpful and supportive even though they didn’t know specially my wife’s condition.
My wife enjoyed the travel and loved meeting new people. It took her mind off of her condition. I would encourage you to travel. It will be good for both of you.
Blessings,
Bobby
Thankyou Bobby xx
I was going to say the same thing about getting travel medical insurance--some comes with coverage if you have to fly home from somewhere. If you're not sure about traveling, now might be the time to do it--before it becomes too difficult?
Thank you
Joy,
We have gone on some all-inclusive holidays with Tui (Egypt, Mexico, Turkey.....). We do meet and greet for the car at the airport - so that you do not have to park far away. We take our own wheelchair. You arrange disability help at both ends for the airports. The tour operator organises the bus from airport to the hotel. The hotel gives you a disabled room. You then have all your meals and drink taken care of. You wheel down to the beach each day. You go to the gym each day. You hire a car / taxi and explore at your own speed. For medical insurance we use Staysure - not much of an extra premium for CBD.
