A light in the night and coping with heat.

I do like this heatwave.

I eat less.

I work less hard during the day.

And it's too hot to sleep so I sit in the garden listening to the water feature and the night sounds with my moggie close by stretched out in the cool doing what she does best... Snoozing.

Every now and then she gets up and meows at me to say how much she is enjoying it and then she creeps off to find another place to stretch out.

Last night I again lit the lamp for those who have passed and their loved ones and sat remembering. Peaceful, holding and letting go. My thoughts mere moths about the lamp. The warm night comfortably wrapped about me.

That just sounds beautiful, peaceful. I have a pond myself with lots of fish, the waterfall has stopped working, as this was Micks big thing, so No one to do these things for me any longer, which is a.shame. I had to.put my cat to sleep the that day, she had cancer of the nose. I miss her , she was Micks cat, I felt I shouldn't let him know.

Oh, Trillo

That is so much to have to bear.

I am trying to fill all of the painful loss with gentle thoughts. I have not yet had to face the greater parting yet to come.

This water feature and pond was a surprise gift for my Liz. She loved it and we would sit and watch the newts and frogs and all manner of beasties. Dragon Flies and Damsel flies appeared from nowhere.

It's the place I can sit with our broken dreams and pains.

Do you have such a place?

How are you doing now?

Warmly

Kevin

I live on my own, as my husband is in step down awaiting for a home, as I cannot look after him and wasn't receiving enough home help I'm out in the country, and my family don't live close by. But I do love the tranquillity of the countryside and all the reminders of all the landscaping he has done over the years.

I hope it goes well and that he gets to be close by.

I found that step difficult at first and then was relieved when I saw how much better the care was in the nursing home.

Best to you both Mary.

Trillo I know what it's like not to have someone to help with things that you want to do! It's so sad when you are already sad?

So sorry you had to have the cat put down. It was the kind thing to do. It was also kind not to tell Mick as it would have upset him and there was nothing anyone could do for the cat?

I am glad you have your pond and fish! It is very soothing to watch fish swim around in a pond I think.

Sorry life is not great for you at present. Maybe you could take lessons in what to do with the waterfall? It would be something positive for you, and something you could continue to enjoy when you sorted it?

Hugs to you.

Kevin your garden looks so idyllic, wish I was there. It's lovely to sit and hear the sound of water. So much so, I got a small solar water feature for our garden for W to enjoy. Unfortunately looks like our weather is going to be wet during the next few days. Hope you have more lovely evenings there. Love, Nanny857x

Those solar water features are beautiful. The Japanese sometimes have indoor gardens when they can and at the centre there is often a water feature.

Hearing and watching water is so relaxing.

Waiving hello to you both.

Such a lovely and natural looking water feature Kevin, I too spend my evenings sitting in the silence of the warm night air. It has been somewhat disturbed by my five year old grandson who has stayed with me for the past week, he has been such a good boy and we have been out most days despite the heat. Sending much love to both you and Liz.

Lovely

I'm not sure I could keep up with a five year old.

It sounds like you are having a great time.

Waiving and smiling.

Dear Kevin

What a beautiful spot to relax and contemplate. It is so important to have 'me' time to recharge the batteries.

What could be more peaceful than an English country garden.

It looks as though we had some rain last night and the air is fresher this morning.

Big hugs

Anne

Hi Anne

Well we're not quite countryside, but it's quiet here. And, yes, relaxing in a garden is great. The nice thing about going out at night is that I can't see the work that needs to be done.

Yes, it's lovely and fresh this morning.

Has Chris got over his chest infection? I hope at least this cool breeze will be a relief.

Hugs

Kevin

Kevin I love your water feature and it obviously gives you and Liz so much pleasure. It is as much as I can to get John from the car to the house let alone into the garden. Long may you be able to bring Liz home. Pauline x

Thanks Pauline.

At least your getting him into the car. I dread the day I can't get Liz home any-more.

I hope things are going as well as they might for you both.

Kevin I loved your post . . . these are the kind of moments we need more of in life. My white lab Ribbie walked into the house with a small frog riding on his hip two days ago, luckily I was able to quickly guide the little guy back outside (which is too funny because I do not do anything quickly these days). Last night my hubby found another little frog climbing up the wall and caught him before our cat did. We love the frogs but not in the house . . . will have to talk to the dog again about unwanted visitors. Sending Hugs - Granni B

Lovely Granni B

Your post made me smile. Thank you.

After a life of rushing, or pushing the boundaries I find it's is the little things and taking time to be with others, just be, or to share, which really make life worthwhile.

Hugs back to you :)

Hi Jude

I'm so pleased it gave you a good pause.

To tell the truth this is my attempt at trying to find some acceptance, some peace.

I am treating myself as a work in progress... but the materials, myself, are not as I would have them ;)

Do share about the space you make when it's done.

A lay-by on this rocky road has to be a good thing. :)

I love the photo as well as the vision your poetic words made in my mind. Things like that fill me with a sense of calm peace. I shall have to ask hubby about a nice water feature in the house.

Hi Debbie

So glad you liked it. It was a beutiful moment.

Nah, don't ask... Just get an unexplained delivery from Amazon ;)

There are some really beautiful indoor ones.

Then there is a Zen oil diffuser (doesn't heat the oil - they're amazing) to complete it.

Waiving warmly
