Did anyone consult with GP or any other health professionals , before trying this.
I've bought some as my mother has CBD & is getting worse by the month
Don't know if I should just go ahead and try it regardless?

Hi Sonic
I'm sure others will give their experiences. Meanwhile it was disused in this thread.
Yes I did talk with neurologist before starting CBD oil. I'm in US not UK. She said since I'm not on any other medications -- nothing has helped -- then there was no reason not to try it. It took a while to get the right dosage (started at 250mg, then 500mg, 750mg and now 1000 mg) but it does give some relief from tremors. Psychologist also said it might help with mood and sleep and it does. I have no pain, never have had.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Hi - Sorry I was in a rush earlier. In that thread you will see my post which says what happened when I discussed it with my neurologist and why in the UK you are unlikely to get approval from a G.P. or a neurologist.
The States is a different ball game. Doctors there feel more able to step off the clinical evidence based strictures.
Best to you
Kevin
(I've typed that explanation out some four times in the last week - seems easier to give a link - hope that's OK)
Hi Sonic
I'm not sure what that might be.
However my experience was that no Dr in the UK would approve it - but they might tell us not to use it either - which is important.
What follows is strictly not medical advice - merely my opinion:
Certainly if your going to try it I would suggest you try it before the new medication. If your Mum is not on any Central Nervous System affecting medications. Do not count SSRI's or Benzodiazepines.
Essentially medications affecting the Central Nervous system operate through metabolic pathways on particular receptor sites in the brain or on nerves. If a medication uses one route and particular receptor sites and CBD oil another and different receptors, then they are unlikely to conflict.
My way of trying it was to try it on myself. I found its action very mild. I then gave my wife a very small amount - a fraction of a dose. And we increased it up to a dose checking for adverse affects. There were non.
We were quite nervous about it. It works well for her.
Sorry - this is the best I can do.
No-one has come back with issues about it, but then I don't know what meds your Mum is on.
Cheers
Hi
I am taking it
I think I am getting some relief
I asked my doctor about it and she said she knows that people are using it and she thinks it’s up to me to use it
Regards
I've asked the community Matron first who told me not to bother asking GP as they wouldn't have a clue! Said to ask the neurologist for advice.
Neurologist said he could not agree to it and was more concerned the effect on the epilepsy than the CBD and to ask epilepsy nurse. Epilepsy nurse over the phone said no I cannot advocate its use and up to us. We have a face to face appointment next week so I'm waiting until then to ask so I can see his actual reaction in person.
We had the bottle arrive yesterday so I took a dose last night. I didn't feel anything good or bad!
