A little info following Kevin’s post about CCG’s and CHC - This is a simple tip they don’t want you to know about!

My dear friends........you may find this info useful to fight your cases against CHC being granted, or not for that matter.

My best friend has worked in the care industry/social services all her life and it was her advice that armoured me when the CHC review came around.

This is a quick but essential tip.......

When the assessors are ticking off the form they should do so as if the patient was receiving no help........ie....they said to me that mum had no choking issues because her meals were liquidised. WRONG!! IT WAS BECAUSE SHE HAD A HIGH RISK OF CHOKING THAT HER MEALS WERE LIQUIDISED.

What I’m saying is........make sure they are assessed without care in place because that is how it should be done. You’ll find our loved ones score so much higher!!!!!

I hope this helps you to get the correct care package that is required to make your loved one more comfortable.

Keep up the good work my lovelies,

Much love Michele xxx

That makes sense but like you say not many assessors follow that ...Thinking back I've had loads of health professionals say to me you manage your mother's care well...So do the think don't need any help then lol

Well done and the very best of luck. I must say it does make me so cross that we have this added stress on top of what we’re already dealing with xxx

Thank you Nanny857, the only good thing is that P is completely unaware of all this, otherwise he would be so upset. P is very religious (I`m not) so your prayers will be a great comfort.

You are welcome especially when you are such a helpful member of our diverse family group. Hubby not doing well today. Legs extremely wobbly and feeling unwell. Unable to keep his breakfast down today. Extra special treatment today as it is our 48th wedding anniversary. Hope that we will be able to celebrate with a nice meal tomorrow.

Fond regards, Esther(teeker) xx
