Hi all my mother , was diagnosed with psp , three months ago . after five years of trying to find an answer .
mum is now confind to bed , currently in hospital, allthow mum is on pain killers
and pain patches , mum is constantly shouting out , and has had to be moved to a single room , idont think she is in constant pain , is this comman with psp .
As mum is shouting ,it is making it difficult to find a nursing home to take mum on.

The reason I say this is that my wife was in a Nursing Home and her behaviour was so demanding and difficult they could not cope and we had to find another Nursing Home. To some degree it is often the lack of staff time to be with someone and calm them.
Sometimes a small dose of an anxiolytic like Citalopram can help. Heavy sedatives such benzodiazepines are best avoided unless really necessary IMHO.
Are you in the UK? If so the CCG should be assessing and finding a suitable place. Just ask he Ward Manager to arrange a CHC Assessment.
