Hi, Sammy. It's been a while. How are you doing these days? Thanks for staying around to help. Love, Ec

Hi EC - I'm good thank you :) - I keep reading the headlines in my email and post whenever I think it's helpful - it's difficult you know, since it brings back difficult memories but I feel blessed my dad is not suffering anymore and there are others who are struggling and if I can make the slightest difference....

How are you doing? I hope you have found a routine and are looking after your health now - I encouraged my mom to go and meet her friends - she is taking some Arabic language classes and enjoying that

I remember reading somewhere that dementia caregivers mourn their loved ones while they are alive... I did not really cry after my dad after the day he passed away, in Mar 2016.. it was only a couple of days ago that I realized I missed him.. so I guess things are moving forward for me too

I can tell from my mom that missing your spouse is completely different from missing a parent - I wish you strength and peace, like I do for my mom

Best wishes!

Hi, Sammy. I'm doing okay, thanks for asking, still struggling, but I don't think there are any shortcuts. I often find myself overthrown by the sense of grief for all that my sweetheart lost, for all that he had been, and all he wasn't allowed to do. And I am too aware of how I failed him, and that hurts a lot, although no more than it ought to.

Sometimes visiting this site hurts, but it often still helps. I check in every day, always glad when the community seems to be getting along without me.

Love, ec
