I had a Pegueot Teepee, with a electric winch to pul the chair up the ramp. Worked very well, car easy enough to drive.

Lots of love

We had a disable access Mercedes Vaneo automatic which had a wheelchair ramp at back, so there is no need for any lifting and the electric wheelchair can be steered in or attached to a fitted electric winch. eBay have a couple around £3000, (new they were about £17k) we were very pleased with ours.

The seats should be relatively high with regard to the road.

Picasso from Citroen and the old model of Mercedes Class A or Class B are suitable.

The wheelchair we use is folding and aluminum made; the brand is "Karma" and model "Ergo Lite 2". This folded chair is confortable and fits well in those vehicles mentioned.

It is advisable to use an anti-scalp cushion.

Greetings.

Are you in the USA? freedommotors.com sells medium size rear-entry & side-entry vehicles (Kia & Fiat) We are very happy with our Freedom Motors recently puchased 2nd hand Fiat which is fitted with a light, easy to unfold ramp, and EZ Lock system. You just roll the wheelchair in - the metal pin (which you get welded to the bottom of the wheelchair frame) locks into the the EZ Lock device which is welded to the floor, secure the seat and shoulder belts and off you go with your Beloved! The Fiat has restored freedom of mobility to my husband who sadly is in the advanced stages of PSP & CBD with Parkinsonism, can no longer stand and was thus no longer able to transfer in and out of our Jeep from his wheelchair. We'll continue to go on outings to visit family & friends, museums, go to concerts, up mountains (with access roads!) and enjoy New England's natural beauty as long as he is able to go out. All the best in finding a vehicle that will bring you both similar joys.

We have recently acquired a Fiat expert tepee. It is an up front wheelchair version which allows for constant contact and communication as there is normally just us two out every day. This is the best type of adaption for us,keeping us together and conversation very easy.
