Worrying time

Last few days hubby sleeping most of the time with Breathing becoming very shallow. Will open eyes for 10-15 minutes staring into space then back to sleep. DN coming to check him over. Wondering if any of you carers have experienced this with your loved one Finding it a very worrying time. Jx

Yes it is a very worrying time. My husband did this. It started a few months before he died. How far advanced is your husband? Has anyone told you, or if you read PSP info do things click into place?

J have you got family or friends to support you? Have you got CHC funding? Have you been in touch with your local Hospice? Sorry for all the questions but they are important.

Marie have family and CHC funding to support. Matron and staff are treasures also hospice. Palliative care medication now in house. Our Doctor due later this evening just to check hubby over. Thankyou. Jx

My mum started sleeping like this about 8 weeks ago. She is awake for a few minutes at a time and then falls back asleep. It is extremely distressing, my mum is also in advanced stages. Even though it is worrying, we prefer it with mum sleeping as she is lost and not aware of what has happened to her. Mum is totally bedbound, non verbal, peg fed, seizures and spasms. Sleeping is better for her but not for everyone around her. All the best, stay strong.
