I just need some respite from the noise.!!!!

Bruce has a DeVilbiss suction unit.  I looked on line have had read where others are complaining of the same problem!  It's too loud!!! The company has supposedly presented one that only reaches 55dcbs...thats as loud as a conversation...Has anyone tried this new instrument....

Or is there another suction machine that you are using that is not loud...oh do tell...I swear I'm losing my hearing.....

And if noone has such quiet machine, will you please give me some ideas how to make a sound proof box for the current ear racker?

I put the subtitles on all TV programmes now as I miss most of what's going on when I use the Devilbliss. Note I haven't used a capitaI V.  I think it was named this for a reason. I have no idea what my neighbour thinks is going on in the middle of the night. It seems as if the whole house is vibrating.  I hope you get some positive replies to your post AVB, so I can get help as well. Thanks for posting.

I had to look 3 or 5 times at spelling....then I thought well thats what I get for letting the devil in my house...and with Bliss might I add! Supposedly they have a quieter machine....but they don't sell to the patient only to supply stores etc....... and that''l be another 5 years before we here in podunck Arkansas get a new fangled thing like that!

We have been looking for a suction machine that could clear M's mouth but noise is a major point as I have a hearing issues caused by too much loud noise.  We have tried one that was so noisy that M got really upset when on also it's suction point was easily damaged by M's bite.  We have reverted to sitting up and using muslin baby cloths to save her shirts.

Oh I am sorry.  B spits as well.  Unfortunately cannot spit as well as that machine can suck!

You know I spen almost all day on internet looking at soundbproof materials and boxes for generators etc. I could not find one that really quieted anything......I read many ideas did you know that a hole about as round as your pinky in/on your soundproof box can release a smuch as 50% of the noise?  They all were pushing green glue. and drywall. The heavier the better.....which then of course leads to other problems.

I went on to a sight much like this but for pediatric tracheotomies.  The young moms  were expressing problems they have with noise in the mid of night...poor babies....
