The mighty Exe in spate

Went down to the Quay in Exeter this afternoon and couldn't resist this picture of the Exe in full flow over the weir . It is a huge volume of water and the sound of it roaring its way seaward is very exciting ; ever such a slight temptation to join the flow .

Lovely photo Georgepa. shame we can't get the sound. Pleased you didn't join it, too wet, too cold. Sleep well.

Wow !! I find watching water so hypnotic. I can never go to the edge of cliffs as I'm afraid of getting drawn in. The power of the elements is exciting.

Wow, exciting and exhilarating, Glad the temptation to 'go for a swim' was a passing thought, much to cold and wet. Take care now. Xx

Wonderful picture and good to know you were able to get out to see it.

We nearly didn't as we got stuck in a disabled lavatory- one we have used before but my wife's mobility is now almost non-existent so I suddenly realised having somehow got her in it was extremely difficult to get out . I needed the skill of a mountaineer and an acrobat combined . Having achieved the impossible I thought a push along the riverside would be restorative !!

Gorgeous. Another place to add to the list of places I must see with my own eyes.

I know the hypnotic draw of rushing water very well; Niagara Falls, NY, is my home town. I am never happy where there is no water nearby.

Lovely photo - well done
