The carers were cancelled for this morning alarm was not set oh how glorious it was to wake up with no clanging in my ear.(only an hour extra but such heaven) got up and made tea eating some raw toast before i whent back to bed to have tea in bed with Brian (him propped up in his hospital bed). Tea drunk then a relaxed saunter into the bathroom for his ablutions.
Breakfast for him and then my bathroom time. Oh so much like the Sunday's of old.
A lovely church service with some good old fashioned hymns meeting up with friends for a cuppa after ( there is a song give me peace in my heart and joy in my voice.... that was me today).
Back home in time to watch the f1 race and top up with some junk food.
Think i will have to cancel the carers again one day soon (whilst i can still manage Brian). Janexx

Sounds like absolute bliss...oh the things that bring us the greatest joy...are right there within reach! have a wonderful rest of your day and do pencil in a cancellation every once in a while.......One of my favorite albums/CDs whatever is by Johnny Cash. Never was a big fan but found this one called "My mothers hymnal" All of moms favorite church songs! Its really lovely...
Have already worked out that next day that we definitely cancel the the carers is the 25th of October when the clock's go back lol that way we don't lose that hours sleep. Janexx
Isn't it funny how such simple things that we once took for granted bring us so much pleasure! I can imagine a day without anyone coming in and out of our home, a day of complete peace, well sort of!
The week ahead we have got something happening every day, either appointments or home visits, my calendar has never been so full!
I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I really don't know what I'd do without our lovely carers, they are almost a part of our family now and they think the world of Keith, but it would be nice to have a break from it all now and then!
I also think I would kill for a cup of tea and some toast in bed in a morning like Keith used to do every day, Someone to just nip to the shop for me, bring the washing in when it rains, the list could go on and on!
Hi Pat, know that feeling. No doubt, everyone has a huge list. Last week, S was having a high, I actually got a wink from him. Something he always did, just a little communication, between us
Where was I? A wink was a private little communication between us! He hasn't done it for soooo long, I had forgotten he even use to do it! Very special! So I can wait for the coffee in bed!
Still waiting for this rotten cold to leave me. I am sure S has got it now, although it can't be from me, only just getting the symptoms. Not that he is able to complain. Speak gone again!
How lovely that you got a wink from S, it shows that he loves you no matter what!
I still get the odd moment with signs of my Keith back again but it doesn't last for long unfortunately!
I have been giving him paracetamol since you talked about it and I don't quite know whether it's my imagination or not but he seems to have been better mobility wise since taking them! Let's hope it continues!
HI JZYGIRL MY WHAT A WONDERFUL START TO A DAY MATEY GOOD ON YER THERE SHOULD MORE OF THEM FOR SURE AND I HOPE THER REST OF THE DAY WENT JUST AS HEAVENLY FOR YOU BEST WISHES PETER JONES QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
Brian did enjoy the fact that it was just the 2 of us as well. He was more relaxed. I know it was the same routine but there was no 3rd party in our morning and no clock watching. Janexx
