Hi there, Mr. Jones! Mr. EC and I enjoyed your last message. Thanks! Pretty soon I will get a bit of a break from work and we can get serious about training for the bike race. We had a big crowd of family and friends at the old farmhouse in the mountains over the weekend in honor of Mr. C's late brother. There were folks from England, France, Canada and the western US, too, and we had a wonderful time. Lots of laughter along with a few tears. A wonderful family from here in Maine came with their fiddles and played some tunes; the patriarch recited poetry, too, really charming and fun, and there were so many hilarious stories told my ribs are still aching. Then Mr. C's daughters and their husbands came back to town with us and we had a little seafood feast last night before they left to go back to their homes across the country. It was a great time. I think Mr. C is going to need a few days of rest to recover from all the excitement, and then we can begin planning our summer road trip.

Great idea, Jill! It's about time there was another party! The 16th is off the table for me (darned job), but I'm always glad when there is a party. I can slip over for a quick visit, then later I can read the posts and conversations, fire up my tunes and raise a glass and be grateful for the community. Especially for you, Jill! Hi Jill, sorry I'm late with my reply. I read your post very late at night, early morning in fact and didn't have my calendar in the bedroom so left it for the morning. Silly thing to do as I could have guessed I'd forget. Anyway, the 16 th is fine for me. I've written it on the calendar.

I may even play some Val Doonican songs. Sad to hear he died today. I used to know Paddy Mcginties Goat off by heart. Not really dance music though is it.

Have a good day tomorrow, and stay upright. We don't want any broken bones or bruises at the party.
