Why is medical care so expensive?

Come on, why is medical care so expensive. Is this like the frog in the pot of boiling water? That they have raised the temperature so slowly that we never noticed we were being boiled alive... In USA I have never heard anyone really ever say that Drugs, Care, Doctors, Hospitals are Too expensive. Only just that insurance should pay more? Come on? What makes someone think it is their right to overcharge for vital services?
