Did anyone say when we was having our day of sloth. Sorry to say I'm haveing mine today. Brian has been washed dressed and breakfasted. I've had a bath while he napped put big fluffy bath robe on now watching the tennis even though the sink is full of washing up and I know soon he will want lunch and then bed so if I'm quite he might just sleep in the chair longer. Oh you made me laugh this morning, Mr. Jones! Thanks, I needed that. I try to think of the various breakages as a clearing out of the clutter, but then boxing up my family treasures and putting them safely in the attic is near the top of my list for the next snow day. (Maybe tomorrow!) I like having help with the washing up, no matter what. love and peace and snow forts, Easterncedar
hi eastern cedar and mr cedar I like having help with the washing up myself mate but its a bit slow in coming my wife likes foxtell and loves the detective stories on there and murder programs I said to her that she could do me in with no trouble at all she just smiled so I take it that meant yes I thought I was supposed to do the smiling bit and thumbs up business she is a hard taskmaster and sometimes wonder if I have psp until I fall over or my swallows plays up or my eyes close for some reason or other
then I come down to earth but she tries to keep me on the go which I hate really because I used to find my own work what I wanted to do now she finds everything for me ah well thats the breaks \\\ well we have had our roof painted and driveway it has made the place look like new again and the bank balance look like old times but it was worth it \\\\\ I reckon I could have done it myself what do you think mr c or was it in my dreams how have you been coping === ok I have only had 3 falls in the last few weeks I put myself down to like a firework fuse you know when you light the fuse of a firework it burns long ok then looks like its gone out so you go up to it and check it out and it starts up again maybe there wasn't enough saltpeter in the fuse thats what I reckon our brain is like with the nerve endings and neurons I think that is why we have some good days and some bad just when we think our neurone has died off it sparkes up again I will leave you with that thought to ponder over mrc and mrs c
well you two I will say goodnight to you look after yourselves keep smiling mr &mrs c

lol JIll
and a smile 4 the rest of the day
Sounds to me as though sloth day ought to be a regular event in all our lives - not just once year . So when you are feeling a bit down and its all getting too much let's take a sloth day- could be once a week once fortnight - whatever and then once year we will have be good to yourself carers' day when you really self indulge big time . How does that sound ?
Thanks for the laugh - ever since moving back with my parents (September), I've slowly started to take over doing the dishes. My dad was always the official dishwasher - my mum always used to say, I have him, I don't need a machine lol. He does as best as he can but mainly at night so we all worry he may have a fall in the tile floor kitchen, he doesn't really rinse anything and sometimes drops stuff, which then wakes us up thinking he's had a fall!! So, I usually do the dishes before I go to bed - I may leave the occasional small one for him to do, because that's what he used to do - and he can't do so many things anymore so who cares about chipped cups and bowls. It adds a touch of personality I think!
You're all a bunch of lovely people and I'm happy that I can come and share experiences with you.
Oh, and if anyone wants advice on --- folding together/putting into trunk/boot of car in one smooth motion---- of walker, let me know! There's only one way to put it in without scratching the side, and after 20 or so times, I think I've mastered it!!
