It's only just gone 10.00am and I'm ready for bed!!!
S woke up at about 6.00am for a "pee", said, "look there's a mouse just run across the floor"!!! Just thinking that he was "seeing" things, as he occassionally does, I went to investigate. Sure enough, there was a mouse running around in the other bedroom. I can cope them outdoors, but INSIDE no way!!! Did a little dance, screamed a "bit", then thought, " oh deary me" I've got to catch this damn thing. Got S to come into the room with me, to try and get it into a corner. Eventually, managed to get it out into the hall, totally trapped, just him and me and the very large net, that I clean the swimming pool with. After numerous attempts, finally got the b........, and put him outside.
Went back to bed, thinking life sucks, another thing I had to cope with on my own. Woke up, a couple of hours later. NO ELECTRICITY,!!!! How can a girl start a c.... Day, without coffee and a chat to you guys!!!
Now I've got to pack, back to Blighty on Wednesday!!!
Lots of love

If we have power. It's like the early '70's here at the moment. Rolling power cuts. Thank goodness, we have a lovely BBQ area, a small gas stove and lots of candles!!! AND no exams to study for, or young baby to feed. Just a man with PSP to get to the loo, in the dark!!!!

I worked in a Social Security office on the enquiries counter in the early 70s. I was behind a desk, no barriers for protection and no health and safety issues. We had 3 candles on the counter and some on the window sill behind. Every time I left the counter to get leaflets/ information about the client etc, I would return to a dark room as the candles had been stolen. It was very scary. Good luck with the loo trips and hope power returns soon.
Ha! Wouldn't THAT have been exciting when the suitcase was opened at home!
We spend our weekends mostly at an old farmhouse in the mountains of Maine, and have been catching lots of mice lately, which is a pitiable thing. I wish they wouldn't come in, but you can't let them have the run of the place, can you? And catching them in pool nets doesn't seem like a practical solution for US. Good for you for managing that, Heady!
Not sure what customs would have said about a stowaway, but that would be funny, if they opened a case to find some sort of animal. Bet it's been done!!!
Now that's really bad! Better a mouse than a snake...or maybe not, Last night one of my dogs insisted on going out at 3:00 am...I couldn't fall back to sleep and today is wet and damp and i'm getting another cold (La Grippe! Costa RIca is trying to kill me,
Hi Jill, hope it will go smoothly. We have wheel chair assistance! So that always helps. It's a long journey, 10 hours to Dubai, we have a 9hours layover, so booked into hotel, then 7 hours back to England. Yes, it's the scenic route, but saves about £3000, on our tickets, than flying direct! Thankfully, we can afford business class, I don't think we would be still coming if we had to fly cattle!
Leave here Wenesday afternoon, get home late Thursday evening! But have got a 10 hour layover, in a hotel in Dubai! S know has severe bladder problems, so it's going to be fun! Any suggestions?
The usual, can't get to the loo in time. Doesn't really know what to do when there. He always use to pee seating down, for years, now things are hard, insists on standing up!!! With the obvious results! Now has started wetting the bed, not sure if he is trying to get up to get to his bottle and fails or if he is urinating in his sleep. Won't talk about it, just says he can't remember. I know that's means he doesn't want to face up to what is happening. I tried just a small pad last night, but tonight, I'm afraid it's going to have to be a full one. I really don't want to be up changing sheets tonight. Also, I think it will have to be full pads on the plane! This really must be the worst illness going, every corner you turn, there's something else to kick you in the teeth!
Desperately trying to not make it matter, but it does. Especially, when you are travelling and staying in strange beds!!! I am hoping, it's just because he is so tired and his shoulder is still playing up, therefore movement is even worse than usual and things will improve when we get home and settled!
Hey ho, another wonderful part of this "..................................." Disease
We're dealing with that, too. We've been to two urologists over the past two years and he's been prescribed a number of VERY expensive drugs, because they want to give him only the ones that are less likely to cross the blood-brain barrier. We tried biofeedback therapy for a while, too. No avail. And he can't tell when he's wet, either, doesn't want to face up to it. And who would? And travelling is REALLY the worst. hang on, Heady. In a couple of days the trip will be just a memory. Love and peace, Easterncedar
