Hello Peter...I,m like Heady,I,m up at 3.20 am as my legs and back hurt like heck....so another few Tylenols and it should pass,Madeline is having real problems breathing, much like croops that a child often gets but it,s really sticking these past days,so I will send you all a hug and give Madeline hers in the morning...best regards,Rollie
Hi Rollie, this site is a god send for all these lonely nights of not sleeping! Hope we both manage a few more hours tonight. It helps to get through the day. Look after that back of yours, make sure you get some treatment!
Hi Heady..I,m sure of one thing 5 years ago I felt like I still was 29,now it,s 92...psp is very progressive, good to hear from you, best to both of you,Rollie
Don't often write on here but read most of the postings everyday. Unfortunately my Tony (PSP sufferer for over 5 years) has been in a nursing home now for the past year so I don't have anyone here to hug. Due to my own deteriorating health (I have lung cancer) I am not always well enough to visit Tony every day, but we always, and without exception, have lots of hugs when we are together. Hopefully I shall be up to visiting him later today so I will make sure he has a "special" hug and I will tell him of your idea. The nurses and Carers in the home where he lives are amazing and over the last 12 months we have built up an incredibly close relationship which always involves a hug when we meet. Tactile behaviour is very important I feel, particularly as Tony is not able to do much else and he responds really well when we share our usual hugs. I see your postings on here all the time so I'm sending you a virtual hug to say thanks for taking the time and trouble to put your thoughts down for others to read. It is now 07.55 so I hope I haven't missed the boat with the "hugging"time! Kind regards and take care......SuzueQ x
Hi SusieQ, it's so good to hear from you again. I often think of you and your dear husband. I hope you did get to see him today and give him a big hug. It must be reassuring to know he is being cared for in a loving environment and that you have been able to build a good relationship with the nurses and carers. It is important to have hugs.
susueQ well thanks for your input mate it was good to hear from you \\well mate you have had some rotten luck all round haven't you but stick with it mate I am sending a special peter jones hug for you today matey
they do not go very often so it will stand you in good stead until you see your husband mate kind regards to him and you take care of yourself peter jones queensland Australia psp sufferer
Hi Peter, I'm not much into hugging fella's but for you I could make an exception. It's likely your day has drawn to a close whereas with me it's about to start, I guess I'm still catching up on sleep or have got into the habit of strange hours. Hope you knees have started behaving themselves again, with your spirit I reckon they wouldn't dare give you grief for too long.

Thanks, mr. Jones! I may be late, but I'll take any excuse for a smooch. My guy is very cuddly always! And how are you this fine day? All the best, Easterncedar
Hi Peter Jones, I missed this post earlier but just read it to Colin and he laughed and put his arms out for a hug. I'm sending you a virtual hug to start your morning.
hi nanna b wellmy day has just started it was about 345when i woke up but layed in bed until 5-45 then I got up and showered i hope you was ok after your drop of red mate it seems like colin enjoyed himself mate that makes me happy I am glad\\\ so see yer nanna b and colin take care both of you peter jones queensland Australia now must rush
Hi Peter Jones, hope your appointments went well and you had a good fall free day. The Rose did go to my head a bit as we had a late lunch but I thought I'd have a doze in the afternoon. Just sat down and my brother and sister in law turned up and 3 hours later, as they left, a friend arrived. I'd revived by then and do love callers so all in all with party and visitors, it was a good day.
You are probably off to bed again now so night night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite. If they do, get a shoe and hit them til they're black and blue.
My heart does hurt for your loss Jim, I still miss my Mum greatly since she passed 10 months ago. I know it's a totally different type of loss with a spouse. Have you thought about grief counselling at all? I know it was a great support to my Mother in Law who lost her husband very suddenly.
Oh Jimbo, get outside and take a walk in the fresh air-she would want you to. I know you are at loss now as to what to do if you are not taking care of her. It does become who we are doesn't it? Write. Put in all down on paper. The good and the bad, even the mundane (if such a thing exists with PSP). I will be extremely cathartic and help you focus on the happy times. All the best.
my opologies to,everyone I failed to answer to last night im only a one finger typist im afraid so if I missed you out it was purely unintentional I can assure you but keep battling on peter jones queensland Australia psp msufferer
Hey Mr. Jones, I think how you manage with one finger typing is true prestidigitation genius. (Did I spell that correctly?). Pure magic! And good day to you on the other side of this little blue planet! Best, EC

\\you spelt it correctly or not because I could not even pronounce the word mate so we are pretty even how is mr going along now withy hes word BIG I have that every week the phsio lady put that in the program especially for me because it gets your voice up another level as well as the exercise you get out of it but I do not think the other members of the group were to impressed

all hi everyone I ill officially close a special hug day it went on for 6 more days than I thought so you really made a meal of it didn't you but I forgot to end it sooner otherwise we will have no energy left for other things like washing up and doing the ironing and doing the beds and all those little mundane things getting ready to start a new day all the things that carers like to do themselves but there's plenty left over for them I have only touched the tip of the iceberg as what work is left over for them to do because I am on a minced diet and thickened fluids which gives my wife enough time to sit down and have a sleep which she deserves after peeling the potatoes and doing the mince and vegetables and meat changing the beds taking the rubbish out =which I am supposed to do but because I fall quite a bit she does it for me or else her BP goes up high but I say to her im the one that is hurt im the one that has fallen over I wonder how many of us have said that \\\\ I will let you catch your breath there mates\\\\ thats my first full stop of the night
