Are sweats common in the more advance stages of PSP?
Dear Jessy,
My husband had this a lot. Think it is less now - Specialists said it was normal with neurological illnesses and can occur at any time - early, midway or in later stages of a disease
When he was living at home I found it extremely hard to handle as at the same time he was not sleeping and wandering around the home, and around the city.

N.B. Having said it is 'normal' to over-heat, infection is also common - so it's best to be sure for that to be checked out - my husband is pretty much most of the time is on antibiotics.
N.B. Because of over-heating he also had changes to his skin - what I call cradle cap - cant think of 'correct' name - If its an issue for your Dad you might want to ask on this site what has been helpful to give you ideas on how to treat.
Hi
Infection is always a possibility with PSP due to the immune system being impaired is what I read. Also I read the Hypothalamus is damaged with PSP so that is why they find it hard to regulate their own temperature so may be sweating profusely in the head region but still have cold hands and feet.

Hello...Madeline has suffered from excessive sweating over the past 8 or 9 years....Rollie
Hello jessbx19. My dad had CBD and all I can say is that he suffered at times dreadfully with sweats. It seemed to occur mainly during the day but to the extent that he had to have his t-shirt changed sometimes hourly as it was so wet. When we mentioned this to the professionals we were told that they believed this to be a symptom of the illness. I hope this helps. My dad used to get very agitated when he was so hot as he unfortunately lost his speech etc and so was unable to tell us.
