After a 9 year battle with P.S.P, last Thursday my precious father took his breath. His battle is over but ours still remains. Our motto has always been that we educate, we translate & we advocate. Our battle ends when a cure is found.

I am so very sorry to hear of your lovely Fathers passing. My wonderful mum passed away (PSP) the day after, 6th Sept. I share in your sorrow and loss. I hope you find comfort in knowing his suffering is now over.

Really sorry to hear your news, we are experiencing the same pain as my father is only days away from the same fate. No doubt your dad was as brave as our as they battled and by god it was a battle with PSP. They are men of courage, humility and patience.

Hi sorry to hear of your dreadful situation. I know it's painful but I'm interested to know how you know that your dear father is only days from death. My mum is in the final stages of PSP and I was discussing this with her night sit-in carer about how I will know when the end is near.It is troubling me whether I will get advanced warning or whether she will go quietly and peacefulyl in her sleep sudenly x

Dearest Kirsty and Jo Jo , sending ye love and hugs from Ireland , I too lost my brother to P.S.P. 9 months ago We, started fundraising for research the month after he passed away and we will keep going as long as we live or until a cure is found ..J.J. was 55 when he was diagnosed and 61 when he passed away ....... Sorry for your loss my June passed away in April of this year after a 8 year and 2 months battle with PSP.. In her memory I have signed up to run the 2014 London Marathon in April as a charity run for the cure of PSP. I have to raise 2,000 pounds which is to be given to the PSP in the UK. My thoughts are with you - we lost Tony in January. One way I continue is to support the "local" PSP group (45 miles away) which is a mixture of carers, past carers and, of course, those presently going through it.

Also, take comfort in the little things - this summer has been extra hot which would have been a miserable time for Tony and at least he was spared that. I'm selfishly relishing my last few years of "freedom" - now in my 70s it is time to do some of those promised things. Don't have any regrets. You did what you could at the time. Channelling anger can lead to good things. My best wishes for your future.
