The diagnostic criteria for PSP is over the age of 40, most common in 60 years and over.

I contacted the Chair of our Medical Advisory Panel and he said that "PSP has been reported but is exceptionally rare under the age of 45 years. In any patient who presents with symptoms suggestive of PSP under the age of 55 years it is doubly important to exclude other disorders that may be easily confused with the diagnosis" - I hope this helps.
