help for arousal incontinence

Hi folks. I'm 58 and had a nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy 9 weeks ago. My recovery has gone fairly smoothly - I had no stress urinary incontinence after the catheter came out and haven't really needed pads, and my erections are slowly starting to recover (been taking Cialis 20mg/day). The one big problem is arousal incontinence: as soon as I get turned on, I start dripping urine. It's definitely a turnoff for my partner. The urologist suggested more Kegel exercises and says it often gets better with time, but I'm not seeing much improvement. Does anyone have other suggestions? Thanks.

Here are some tips I've picked up from patients who have climacturia after prostatectomy:

• Restricting fluids for a few hours before sex, especially coffee, tea, Coke, alcohol and fruit juices

• peeing before sex (sit down and rock around or in the shower - whatever it takes to fully empty the bladder)

• a constriction band around the base of the penis (also helps maintain erection)

• lay down on your back and don't change position

• use a condom

• get rubber sheets, and just enjoy water sports

Unfortunately, I suspect that ED meds (like Cialis) may make it worse.

hi I had/have the same problem. After surgery was the worst. Just seeing a guy in speedos gave me a drip. My experience is that it improves with time. It hasn’t totally disappeared, but it really isn’t an issue for me. The drip is now so small. One thing I’ve found that helps is getting hard fast - when I’m horny it just isn’t an issue. If I’m not that interested, it will just leak.

Thank you for this post! I am 100% dry EXCEPT on arousal. Thank you TA for the suggestions. I think I will also start kegels again.

I had the same issue, I did start to get better after getting back to the gym along with continued Kegals.

However every now and then I still get a drip or two.

yes, don't do radiation unless necessary. It will make that happen even more. Yeah, it's a bit of a mess. Get used to it it's five years later. Had recurrence had radiation then it fucked me up too. The urine thing can be fun. My partner is not crazy about it either. But it is better than being dead. it is also fun to see how far I can shoot that piss. The European men don't mind because something still comes out. You do get used to it over time. Otherwise, get AUS and you can control more or an implant. I have been around to see this stuff fo 6 years none of its easy. Enjoy the moment that is what I have learned. healeadteach is a website on YouTube i put healing modalities and we also make cooking videos. check it out maybe you will get a chuckle. Feel better enjoy life!
