Deciding what to do after diagnosed......

OK, as I said in the first posting, diagnosed in Jan 16.   It took forever to get the colonoscopy, bone scan, and pelvic CT scans done.  Somehow, I feel this is important, yet doctors schedule it whenever they can.

Now I have decided on HIFU and found out that I have to do all the research, visit each doctor, and decide which one is telling the truth.  I have also discovered that I need an MRI and photovaporization of the prostate (PVP) before HIFU.   I am not sure how I thought all of this would happen, but I guess I was not prepared for doing EVERYTHING myself.   Good thing I am retired as I work on this all the time.  But delays are driving me crazy.  I want to get these things done NOW and have the HIFU and go on living with the idea that I can have cancer again at any time.    The MRI and PVP should be covered under my Humana plan so I am on my PCP's case every day to get these authorized.   Also informed him I want it done with the newer 120W green laser system.   I feel like I am studing to become a doctor.  The longer this takes, the more desensitized I become.   I am really getting to be sad most of the time......
