Erections possible on ADT?

I have been Orgovyx for a year. I have essentially no erections. Is there any way to change this?

might consider a penis pump to keep the blood flowing, while you're down. and yes, trimix does work very well.

I can still get erections on Prostap ADT but I have to work a lot harder!

the only erections I’ve seen since starting ADT are the buildings in my condo complex….that said….they were pretty poor prior to starting ADT anyway( age 72 now)….ive heard good things about tri mix but tri mix isn’t going to find me a partner😁

I had to ask my PA for Viagra/Cialis, and was denied by insurance, but finally got some inexpensively through GoodRX. Taking this daily prophylactically. Recently ended 6 mos. or Orgovyx, but it take extra work to "get it up" while on Orgovyx, and had low to no interest with dead libido.

Has anyone been able to maintain sexual activity at all while on ADT? Is anyone on Apalutamide having success?

To answer your question, yes there are people that have been able to maintain sexual activity. In my case, yes but not as before ADT but it helps me with PDI5 inhibitors, using a penile pump regullary and basically doing ’rehab’ for my penis.

Apalutamide only doesn’t suppress production of Testosterone in testicles. It inhibits the androgen receptors; basically it ’starves’ prostate cancer cells to feed on Testosterone but your body still produce Testosterone so I suppose it’s not uncommon that your libido is up and running and also you have erections as normal. This is of course not the ultimate truth but I would guess you’re way better of then if you’re on ADT, with both libido and erection function

I suppose you’ve added PDI5 inhibitors(Tadalafil, Sildenafil and etc.) and also used a penile pump as part of a ’penile rehab program’ when you started Orgovyx. It’s not a guarantee to have a erection but for some it helps and also, it may also help preventining damage to your penis when on ADT.

If your on this and the outcome is still poor I think injections like caverject, Tri Mix and etc. is a way forward.

For whatever it's worth, my docs may have been good body mechanics but they were awful at dealing with the emotional/ psychological aspects of PCa treatments, particularly ADT. I was fortunate enough to be in a study that addressed such issues. The study provided a penis pump, ED meds, literature, videos and counseling to help deal with the sexual side effects of ADT. Even though I had zero, zip, nada interest in anything sexual while on ADT, I followed the study's recommendations. I am very glad that I did. Btw, I received Lupron shots for 9 mos and it took over a yr and a half for my T to return (and it was never high to begin with - in the 250s). My T is now 350s (go figure). I can get and maintain erections, I sometimes take sildenafil to help with the effort and I can orgasm. So, for a 75 yr old coot, I think I am damn lucky. I wish my docs had offered assistance with ADT side effects but they did not.

Good luck to you. There are things you can do to minimize the impact of ADT on your sexual self.
