Rise Testosteron means rise PSA?

Hallo everybody,

I'm a Dutchman, 78 years old. Diagnosed in may 2021. Gleason 9 (4 + 5), tumor slightly out of the prostate, N0 M0. Beginning June 2021 24 months LHRH-agonist. From July till medio September 2021 35x2.2G external radiation. Six weeks thereafter my PSA was less than 0.1 and my Testosteron-value was less than 0.4 nmol/L. PSA stayed at less than 0.1 till last week when it came in at 0.11. Testosteron went from less than 0.4 (October 2021) to 0.7 to 7.4 to 9.4 to 8.7 (October 2024) to 16 nmol/L (472 ng/dL) last week. Tomorrow I see my RO. Do you guys have any idea of what to ask him or what to say to him? Momentarily i'm checked up every six months. Should I ask for a shorter period (4 weeks, three months)? Should I ask him if the PSA-rise could be attributed to the testosteron-rise? I`m curious about your thoughts.

Thanks and wish you all the best,

Nomiskneh.

You still have a functioning prostate so you will always have some PSA. As your testosterone level normalizes, your prostate will put out some PSA. One doesn't worry about biochemical recurrence until your PSA reaches 2.0.

0.11 is very low. You should be very happy with that.

I would suggest going to every 3 months for PSA and T., to help reduce any anxiety.

Congratulations on recovering your normal T after 2 years of ADT! Many men never recover their baseline T.

It's normal for your T to rise after completing a course of ADT. Enjoy the libido, and don't worry about PSA until it reaches 2.0, as Tall Allen said. Then, you can go back on ADT if needed.

Dear janebob99,

Thanks for your interest in my case. I just spoke to my RO en we agreed on a 3 month-testing-period for PSA and T.

Best wishes from,

Nomiskneh
