I had RP nine years ago, salvage radiation 4 years ago, my psa test results have been less than
.02 after treatment with radiation.
Current side effects minor incontinence, maybe one leak per day, and one small passing blood in urine event during the past year due to radiation damage to the bladder neck.
Is there value in continuing Urologist visits, I see a different NP each time?
If I stop the visits, then I would have my GP monitor my psa test results annually.

The result from my cystoscopy last year showed, changes of the bladder neck consistent with radiation cystitis, otherwise exam normal. Is radiation cystitis progressive or can it remain a minor issue?
Great question. I have something similar. I think I’ll talk to my GP about moving my biannual PSA test to them. My urology group was absorbed by a big healthcare group and I’ve moved an hour away anyway.
Same boat at almost 80. I kind of split the difference. My MO does 6 months checks soon to be annual checks and my GP does one on my annual. So with the MO going to annual and careful scheduling I still get one every 6 months. I cut out the middle man.
At my age I can read a PSA test from the lab and determine if it is rising and how fast over time. You do not need to be a MD to do that. We do this everyday when we read our speedometer and set cruise control.
