Is there a current Cancer Center that is a leader in immunotherapy
Would there be any benefit in taking provenge after treatment when your PSA is low?

Provenge only works when there are metastases - dendritic cells are activated by cancer antigens. There are many trials but so far Provenge is the only approved immunotherapy. The only exception is if a patient has a rare genomic condition.
I don't meet those requirements. PSA current Value <0.1 (researching what that means now, but I think it is good even though it is not zero) Starting from a Gleason 9 tumor the size of a ping pong ball.
I think the science on Provenge is iffy, but if it works, best to be done when the PSA is low.
I am at MD Anderson at will see if I can get the Doctor to order it
Do you know of any Cancer centers that are on the leading edge of immunotherapy? If so I would like to contact those centers and see if I could take Provenge (perhaps as some type of trial) or take another possible vaccine.
Thanks for your help
I'm actively exploring Provenge right now. A little difficult to find providers in this area but I'm pushing outward.
Keep us posted.
Sounds like a solid plan. Good luck and please keep us informed of progress and outcome.
