Looking for medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

I was diagnosed one year ago with two very small tumors, one on each lobe. Gleason 6, grade group one. Less than 5% involvement in each tumor. Decipher of 0.28, which suggests low aggressiveness. PSA has remained 0.7 for a many years. Although I think Fox Chase Cancer center in Philadelphia is a fine hospital, I decided to switch to Sloan Kettering in New York for my next round of MRI and biopsy. Does anyone have any suggestions for a doc to see there? Is there any type of more advanced MRI machine that I should request?

Behfar Ehdaie is in charge of their active surveillance program. I think he is excellent for that purpose.

Thank you Allen. I am currently under the care of Dr David Chen at Fox Chase who is top rated and very highly regarded and a very nice person, but with Sloan Kettering being nearby I think I'll get a second opinion there regarding my treatment. What type of MRI should I request or do they generally use?

All top hospitals offer similar mpMRIs. The difference is in the experience and proficiency of the radiologists who read them.

agree with TA. I was under dr Ehdaie’s care and he is outstanding. Best there is.

Dr. Wassim Abida is an excellent medical oncologist at MSK and has great bedside manner. He specializes in prostate cancer.

I've had MRIs at MSK and had appointments with Ehdaie. They don't use gadolinium contrast.

what has made you decide to do anything other than continue to monitor PSA given your Gleason, Decipher, and stable PSA? Just curious really.

Both of the oncologists I consulted with said I should have a follow-up MRI in one year and possibly another biopsy just to have a baseline. I'm open to opinions and experience of others on that.

the other part of my team is radiologist Dr Sean McBride. He is one of the best in the world.
