I am meeting with MD Anderson tomorrow. Does anyone have the name of a HDR Brachytherapy Doctor that works at MD Anderson. If I don't suggest someone, I will get potluck. Hoping for someone with a great reputation
For a transperineal biopsy I can recommend Justin R. Gregg, MD, but you may only meet him 5 minutes before the procedure.

I see MD Anderson in the morning. Will try and schedule a consult with Dr Kamrava. Thanks again for you help. Let me know if you want me to use your name for the referral.
Wow, thank you. I thought I was going to have to travel to California. I will ask about him when I am at MD Anderson in the morning. How is your husband doing?
Jim is doing very well. Been on ADT & Abiraterone + Pred for 3 years. He has been undetectable for a little over 2 years. The HDR BT is the only RT he had due to a variety of prior issues unrelated to his PCa. Dr Mohamad is outstanding and he "held our hand" for the first two years at UCSF. Would call to check on Jim, and Zoomed every couple months. We were distraught to lose him. He even called from vacation when Jim had his PSMA scan.He gave us his email if we ever needed anything. I truly hope you get to be treated by him.
I was at MD Anderson Woodlands today and the Radiologist I spoke with said he did not know anything about HDR brachytherapy and referred me to the Proton department for further questions. I am trying to get a consult with Dr. Chang in LA now.
I have chronic prostatitis and the MD Radiologist I spoke with thinks any radiology treatment will make it worse and perhaps surgery would be a better option and would relieve chronic prostatitis pain. I am seeing a MD Anderson Urologist on the 30th
I go to see Dr SEUNGTAEK CHOI at MD Anderson in a couple of weeks. He is with the Proton center, so I will know more when I go. I will see an MD Anderson Urologist next week concerning the prostatitis.
I have Gleason 8 and Tall Allen told me from the start there are no shortcuts for me. I don't think I am a candidate for any type of focal procedure, but I will ask again when I go. Thanks to this group, I suggested a Pet CT and if there is no spread, Schultz seems to suggest I may be able to cut ADT to 4-6 weeks. In hindsight, I wish I had requested a Decipher test when they did the biopsy. My understanding is, I can not request the Decipher test now that the biopsy is completed.
