Emory in Atlanta or MD Anderson?

I live In a medium size city, I am told by others NOT to have any treatments here. Emory Zuniga in Atlanta is an hour drive away and MD Anderson in Houston Is an hour by air. Any thoughts on which might work for me? Seeing urologist today for options, but will go to one of the others for a second. 67 years old. Gleason 4+3=7 and perineurial invasion present.

You should not choose a hospital - choose doctors instead. While the major institutions employ some of the best doctors, some work independently. Here are some tips:

If you are near Florida, consider Vipul Patel in Orlando for surgery, Debra Freeman in Tampa for SBRT, Matthew Biagioli in Orlando for HDR brachytherapy, and John Sylvester in Bradenton for LDR brachytherapy+EBRT

You seem to have the same relative diagnosis and stats as I did. If you choose HDR brachy as I did I can recommend Dr. Daniel Fernandez at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.

I live near Knoxville, TN and chose a specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. You cannot go wrong if you pick a MO at a major research center.

Best wishes!

MD Anderson is still one of the best in the US. You should be consulting them.

Thank you. I first thought of Emory because it is 100 miles f on me. However, I did choose MD Anderson and have an appointment on 1/6. Seems like a long time to wait, but I have stage 2 and it’s slow growing (I hope).
